Taiwan Trip - Smokey Joe's Apartment Hotel (冒煙的喬_就是公寓旅店)

Got the chance to visit Smokey Joe's Apartment Hotel (冒煙的喬_就是公寓旅店) at Gaoxiong during this trip and I was glad that we had two nights there. This Hotel is gorgeous and I love their design concept. Rather quirky and having the Texas feel in the middle of Gaoxiong.

When i walked it, I was greet by a lovely vintage turquoise car and the day we checked it, it was pretty late. I had the opportunity to see the lovely balloons lighting up the lobby in their brightest colours. I was awed away by the scene that I didn't want to go up to my room yet. *haha* But little did I know, my room was another wonderful little cozy area for photos too.
I love how the lights shines during the night.
After playing around at the lobby, I finally lug my luggage up to my room, the double room. I was welcomed with a lovely pinkish room with a little western taste. I loved every single details in the room. The side lamp is actually in a shape of the tap, the dressing table is lovely though the mirror was a little too far for my liking but it is spacious enough for me.
I can sleep without worries when I have three animal heads looking over me
The other side of the room, please pardon my luggage and the bags.
They have like super cute toilettes too! It's like they branded everything to match the style of the hotel, with a little tint of cozy and cuteness in the little details of the room. Even the bath mat has the hotel logo, though I didnt take any photos, because I only realised after getting out of the shower *haha*.
Look at how cute the labels of each package are! Credit: 周杰克.
Whoever is the designer has pretty much done a decent job to design each product here. Credit: 周杰克
I had the chance to visit two other sizes room, that's the Quad Room and the Balcony Quad Room.
Quad Room, with two queen size bed. Credit: 周杰克
This room is a combination of English and British style, the posters in each room are randomly choose to be placed. BTW the toilet door is pretty cool too! It's a slide door which has metal poles as part of their design. Rather unique but heavy when i tried to close it.
Small cozy corner.
The sofa area, even the sofa is uniquely designed. And that's the staff from the Apartment Hotel.
The Balcony Quad Room is a great room to book if you have kids and wants them to have some entertainment while you slip the tea/coffee complementary from the hotel. Or you want to have a home feel when you check into the hotel with your friends/ family, this is the room to book for. It is spacious enough to rest after a long day out on your trip.
The spacious living room
The living room is well equipped with a table hockey, lovely vintage sofa set and a vintage fridge.
The table hockey that you can enjoy when you are back in the room. Credit: 周杰克
There's a mini balcony to look out to the lovely view to relax after a long day out when you don't feel like staying in your room. The bedroom is exactly like the Quad Room, well-equipped with two cozy queen beds and a lovely armchair.

Each room is labeled with an alphabet and room number. Using 24 letters out of the 26 standard letters, each label is well-designed, hand crafted too. As mentioned by the boss, the unit numbers are made up with screws, slowly done by the staffs. Bravos to them to do such a great job. I stayed at Room Z and here's a N for you guys.
Each letter will light up when there are occupants inside the room.
Since there are only 24 rooms, give it a try and guess which two alphabets are omit from their list (hehe).

If you are planning to visit Gaoxiong, do consider their hotel, if you like something western and a little vintage touch.

Meet and Greet Session with Hugo

Credits: Mi Community Singapore
Xiaomi Singapore was nice enough to invite 20 lucky fans who had purchased Mi 4i on the first sales of the set in Singapore to have a meet and greet session with Mr. Hugo Barra, VP of Xiaomi Global, today!  ^_^ And I am one of the lucky fans to meet him, once again (hehe).

Even though the session was short, but I am glad that Xiaomi Singapore had this planned out from his busy schedule. Each of us took our parcel from him personally and had photos taken, either with my camera or their own phones (snap snap at the back).  And he personally signed on the parcels!
Some of the lucky fans!
Hahaha ... I think most of us went further to get him to sign on the phone box itself and some other random stuffs (guilty charged).
Say hi to the handsome Hugo, and no. I'm not a stalker xD
Got him to sign on my Mi 4 phone case and Ian's Mi 4i box. :p Crazy people
What's a meet and greet session without a group wefie?!
Credits: Mi Community
After the session with Mr Hugo Barra, we had a mini Q&A session where Mr Louis Shue, Product Manager of Xiaomi Singapore, shared with us some tips on MIUI 6 and Mi 4i. Since the launch of MIUI 6 stable ROM in Singapore, there are many users who are not used to the new interface and shortcuts/features that are available with MIUI 6.
Getting everyone to try out each feature as he goes through them.
Even though it was a short session, but it was indeed an wonderful session with Mr Hugo and Mr Louis. Thank you for such experience, looking forward to more events host by Xiaomi Singapore (still feeling happy).

[Sponsored] Jergen's Daily Moisture, Soothing Aloe and Ultra healting Body Lotion

Ever since I came back from Korea, my skin has been considered dry. Skin by means, my body, not face. *hehe* I have a strict routine for my facial skincare that sometimes D thinks that I'm taking up too much time to pamper them. Back to topic, since then, whenever I sleep in an aircon room, my body skin will itch, especially the legs. It is so dry that when I walk out of my house, the legs will start to itch so badly that I looked like a monkey trying to scratch while walking. I've consulted friends regarding about this issue and all of them advised me to get a good body moisturizer.
I've tried a few brands but my legs still itch whenever I head out, like mid-morning. *god knows why* Brands shall not be named, since it doesn't really worked out for me. Then Jergens recently released a new and improved range of body moisturizers.  I remembered using their body lotion more than a decade ago, and I stopped coz it was a little too oily for me back then (and I was lazy too).
Jergen's new range of body lotion: Daily moisture, Soothing Aloe and Ultra Healing
Being No.1 Body lotion Brand in USA, Jergens new range target 3 different market users,   which I decided to try all three at different areas of my body. I do have different body skin issues, so might as well. The three variants for this range are:
Thinner texture as compared to the other two.

1. Daily Moisture for Dry Skin.
This contains Skill Proteins and Citrus extracts which helps in improving texture for visible smooth skin.

The texture looks a little green and slightly thicker
2. Soothing Aloe for Normal to Dry Skin.
This contains Cucumber extracts and pure Aloe Vera which helps in reviving skin for visibly more refreshed skin. Aloe Vera is known for its freshness in keeping skin moist, I have lots of facial care product that has aloe vera too, plus the smell is so refreshing.

Thickest in texture, but the smoothness is the best after application
3. Ultra Healing for Ultra Dry Skin.
This contains Vitamin C, E and B5, which repairs skin for visibly healthier skin. This is great for super dry skin as skin may lack of much water that results in skin crack. And Vitamin C is a great ingredient in repairing the damage.
Besides repairing and moisturizing your skin, this new range contains the HydralucenceTM blend that provides longer lasting hydration for visibly enhanced skin tone, texture, and luminosity. It gives your skin a beautiful, envious glow.
There's a patch of dullness on my elbow, which is also quite dry
I tried Soothing Aloe on my elbow, as it tends to be a little dry and dull in skin colour. I applied Daily Moisture on my legs they are dry but not visibly cracking and lastly I applied Ultra Healing on my body as my body tends to get super dry after a night sleep in the air con room.  Next morning, I am amazed by how smooth my skin is and less dull it look. It doesn’t look dry and it feels smooth. That is after around 8 hours of application. Then I applied once again in the morning before heading out. My skin does looks glowy under the sun and my legs doesn't feel the itch for once. *falls in love*
Me, taking OOTD after using Jergen's new range of skin care after a few days.
After 12 hours, back home, my skin still feels smooth and glowy, it feels like my skin has locked the moisture from the lotions just right. And I don’t feel sticky even though I work in an non-airconed office. This prompts me to use it everyday. Another good point about this new range is it doesn’t have this super sticky after-application feeling and my skin absorbs it wells within 5 mins. I do not have to worry about staining my clothes with the lotion or feeling uncomfortable the whole day. Some lotion have this sticky feeling that you just wanna wash it off. :(
And because of the extract contains of each lotion, I have this fresh scent on me right after application. I feel refreshed and happy, because one thing, its not coconut or some weird oil smell that some lotions I used to have had.
Using the New Jergen Body Lotion makes me feel refreshed and happy, I don’t feel like a monkey scratching during the mid-morning when I head out. And I feel more confident when I go out for functions or visiting. It is like having a great hair or facial skin, having a good body skincare, it adds on to a good look no matter how you dress. Because it is just adds up to looking great. :)
D's knees before using Ultra Healing
And even though body lotion are mainly used by women, I’ve tried Ultra Healing on D. His legs are horribly dry and it’s even worse when he likes to peel his knee’s dead skins off. *eww* Made him apply it for nearly a week, day and night.
After a week of usage.
Here is the result, his skin looks smoother, healthier and glowy too. And it reduced the dryness, plus the dullness has reduced like 50%.
Ladies! You can share this with your man if he has dry skin issues too!! Sharing is caring and gives you another reason to stock up. The New Jergen range is now available at leading supermarkets, western pharmacies, and personal care stores, priced at S$8.90. Time to stock up all 3 types.

[Sponsored] Bioré Micellar Cleansing Water

Makeup cleanser is a required product for women who frequently apply makeup. Especially how effective it is in removing and the feeling after removing. I'm someone who consistently looking for better makeup remover. I don't like those oil makeup remover for it leaves the sticky and oily feeling after usage. *erlack*

Bioré has a new makeup remover, Micellar cleansing water. Water-based makeup removal is always one of the better options that I would go for, as it will not leave any sticky feeling. Some may say that water will not work as good as oil or milk based makeup removal.
Maybe not for eye makeup, as I always have thicker eye makeup, some water-based makeup removal are not able to clean it thoroughly. However, Micellar cleansing water is different. It is able to remove my eye makeup thoroughly with the given instructions on how to remove it. I am quite amused by the results.

Before and after using Micellar Cleansing Water
Decided to try out, before removal, you can see that I do have quite a bit of eye makeup. Pardon for the unbalanced eyes on the right. *haha* But it is definitely working for me. Micellar Cleansing Water does not leave any sticky feeling after usage, I felt quite clean and refreshed. With a wipe, it did clean out more eye makeup than some of the those eye makeup removal. (Hootts) Now I can save up on cotton pads. This is suitable for all skin types, even for sensitive skin. I've got combination skin, and it works well for me.

Micellar Cleansing Water contains the following:
  • Watery Micellar Technology that efectively dissolves and lifts of all makeup including mascara and eyeliner.
  • Natural Mineral Water from the Northern Japanese Alps for a gentle and soothing formula.
  • Enriched Collagen and White Tea Extract for brighter, softer and suppler skin.
  • Anti-bacterial formula helps prevent pimples and breakouts, and minimises pores for a clearer and more refined complexion.
Simple to use too:
  •  Pump an appropriate amount onto a cotton pad
  • Use soaked cotton pad to gently wipe of makeup
  • No rinsing required
  • For eye makeup, place soaked cotton pad onto closed eyes and hold for 5 seconds before gently wiping it off
  • Repeat until all makeup is removed, and cotton pad is clean

Viola! This explains why it is able to clean off my eye makeup. I am gonna pack this for my Wedding day this Sunday and also for my trip to Korea next week. It is gonna keep my skin clean and soft from all the makeup that it's gonna get this Sunday ♥.

Bioré Micellar Cleansing Water is available at all pharmacies, hypermarkets and supermarkets, and major departmental stores for S$18.90!! Time to stock them up ~~~

[Unboxing Videos] Redmi Note Singapore set

We all know that the Redmi Note Singapore set was released early July and everyone were eager to get their hands on it. After three flash sales, there were still quite a number who didn't manage to purchase it. I think I am one of the lucky ones, along with my friend.

So, as usual, we decided to do a unboxing video. If you wanna know more about the details of the Redmi Note, you can view hers:

Here is mine, a short snip, testing how great a Redmi Note video can be! Using Ian's Redmi Note to video down the unboxing process. Tell the truth, the video quality aint great but the recording is powerful.

And here's Redmi Note Lite video, great to convince that your parents need a Redmi Note!

After using my redmi note for a week or so now, I'm loving the size even though it's way bigger than my palms, but still the touch of a 5.5" is amazing. Maybe more after I full utilise the phone.

Nanoblock addiction

Ever since my friend, Angel, got me my first nanoblock set, I've been a little addicted to this hobby. A little too addicted I would say. My last purchase cost me $170 *sweats* but it is all about the joy of fixing them together and displaying on my desk.
My very first set of Nanoblocks
It was lovely to fix up my first set as it was kinda cute to have something small for desk decoration.
Cute isn't it????
But as time went by, friend asked if I wanna get Rilakkumas' nanoblock, the burning urge to get them and build them for desk decoration grew stronger. So I got two more Rilakkumas and the addiction to build went up.

This one took longer to fix as this Rilakkuma lies down and it was harder for me to imagine how it would looked like even though I followed the instructions.

This is easier but i think the blocks wasn't well fixed. Had some issues with the head though.

The heads were interesting to build, so when Kino was having a 20% discount for all members, I went on a nanoblock shopping spree. Within that one spree @ Kino, I ended up $200 poorer.
Pikachu from the Pokemon Series
Nearly purchase the whole series, but what stopped me was my pocket. Even though it was worth the purchase.
Another series of the Rilakkuma
I wanted to get all three from this series, but D said too many for the house currently. And he said since I've already gotten the brown rilakkuma and the pink one, why am I getting another two more in the different design? T_T He just don't understand the addiction.
Torre pendente di Pisa
This is one of the famous sight seeing places that I've purchase, the small one of coz. It was different from fixing a character as this has more repetition than a character. So I had some fun shots with my completed nanoblock with Xiaomi's France Mi Bunny.
Interrupting a Date
"I wanna enter... *rawrs*"
Time to head back to fixing up nanoblocks. More coming soon maybe? ^_^

Xiaomi Singapore first' Fan Meet! [Photos heavy]

Credits: XiaomiSG Facebook
Had a chance to go for this event was a dream come true. (Coz I get to meet Hugo personally). And I was super excited for this event for this is like their first even Singapore Fan Meetup. Being part of the mod team for the sub forums, all 4 of us were appointed as volunteers for this event. Following photos will be credited to the photographers as that day I was moving around like a bouncy bunny and my friend took my camera and helped took some photos and the interviews too. ^_^

The event was held @ Limehouse level 2 which is quite a cosy place. I would love to head back there again for events (if there's any) and their staffs there are pretty nice for they were happily interacting with us too. ^_^

The volunteers were there early to help out in setting up and also to prepare for registration. We needed to verify all invited users as there were limited goodie bags. And also we managed to meet Hugo when he was entering, but perspiring. :p

So what did all attendees got? There are three items that were given in the goodie bag:
Mi Portable Wifi. Credits: WS
MIUI White T-Shirt. Credits: WS
MI Bunny!! Credits: WS
I think all fans felt pampered with the door gifts. hehe wells, I was. And I had the volunteer T-Shirt too. Its the Black MIUI T-Shirt. *heehee*Being still a kid at heart, I was happily hugging the sheep Mi bunny throughout the whole event. If you can actually spot me in the group photo. :p
And I took out my Sheep Mi Bunny!! *hugs* Credits: Angel
And did you spot the tags? yes, everyone who attended the event too, got a tag, labeled as Fan with a MITU stamp. (I was happily stamping away and busy at the registration counter :p)
SO before everyone started streaming in, I was happily playing around with the sheep mi bunny. Of coz with some fun friends.
A blur photo, but I though my pose was funny *whahaha* Thank you for these people plus Angel, the camera woman. Credits: Angel
After play, time to start work and here's me working at the registration counter. No i didn't slack. We had 61 participants here, along with the staffs and others. (:
Busy checking details. Credits: WS
While waiting for the event to start, Fans were all told to change to the given MIUI T-shirt for the group photo at the end of the event.
Fans changing to their MIUI Tee while waiting for the event to start. And John checking the screen :p Credits: WS
The event started promptly at 2pm, since like 95% of the fans have arrived and waiting eagerly.

And here's Hugo, taking the centre stage like the wind.
Mesmerising everyone with his handsome looks and speech. Credits: Angel.
So Hugo started off with the history of MIUI and how it has evolved its internet presence till now. That includes the screen shoots of their previous BBS and forum layout. Also, he introduced the initial xiaomi staffs strength with a group photo in his slide.
Ta-da, Angel managed to capture a photo of it. Credits: Angel
After the slides and talk about MIUI history, he went on to show the different fan sites from different countries. I lost count after 5. T_T But some of the fan sites are amazingly done, really beautiful. I am amazed how much effort each fan site has put in to bring the beauty out of MIUI.

After Hugo's talk was Ren Tian's talk on MIUI ROM history and design concept. I admit I didn't use the previous designs. I started with my first MIUI, that's V5, on Mi3. But from the feedbacks given from WS and ALP, MIUI did focus a lot on their UI and designs. I do like the security app which is one of the best I've ever used. However, based on optimisation ROM, they are not really on that level yet. (Ok, shall keep my mouth shut for now).
Wrong settings here but at least we managed to get his details on screen. (: Credits: WS
Woah!! That's a lot of users within 4 years. (: Credits: WS

Okaii, while the talk was going on, we had a chance to hold on to Redmi Note TD version. I just had to compare the size with my face.
Looks longer than my faceeee. Credits: Angel

And Steven was nice enough to let us try out his Redmi Note TD set for comparison. *hoots*

Look at the thickness! Top to bottom: LG Optimus G Pro, Redmi Note and Samsung Note 3. Credits: WS
Seems like Redmi Note is the thickest out of the three phone. But the weight is relatively around the same. To me it is still a big size phone that I won't probably consider, since it is bigger than my palm, high chance it will end up on the floor more frequent than on my hand. T_T

And of coz, being nosy about what are the prizes to be won for the event. Got to hold on to one of the Mi router, which was the third prize for the event.
Getting all excited. Credits: Angel
After Ren Tian's talk on the designs, it was time for a short break. Many fans were actually quite thirsty and the staffs were trying their best to serve drinks as fast as they can.
Yummy refreshments for the fan. I like their Mac n Cheese ♥ Credits:WS

The first round of lucky draw came after the break. They were giving away 4th and 3rd prize. 4th Prize was Mibox, for 5 lucky MIUI fans.

Congrats to all lucky Mi Box winners. Credits: Angel.
You know, Xiaomi has this saying, believing in something better will happen. And I did! I won the Mi router. *hahaha* Of coz, Sam too. We are the two lucky Mi router winners. I will try out my Mi Router after exams this week. *roars*

After the Lucky Draw was the Product Manager of Xiaomi Singapore MIUI ROM, Louis's talk about some tips and tricks in using V5.

After the tips and tricks was the Q&A session which everyone was looking forward to. Like *FINALLY!!* I think they really answered well for each question that was asked.

And lucky fans who asked about MIUI ROM were given either power bank or mi key!♥ And the news for Redmi Note release !!! According to Hugo, it will be released in SG in June instead of May. Users who want to wait for the Note which is bigger than Redmi and faster, please do wait till June for more announcement for the release.

After the Q&A session, it was the second round of lucky draw!! For 2nd and 1st prize. 2nd prize, 2 Redmi Note TD to be won, and 1st prize, 2 Mi3 to be won.

While trying to squeeze everyone in, we realised we need two rows of us sitting on the floor. But the floor was dirty, and Hugo, being the leader was cleaning the floor so that everyone gets to sit on clean floors. ♥♥

Some of the fans were done playing with the Redmi note and they were Q-ing up to take a photo with Hugo.
Look at the Q. Credits: MIUI Forums
And being a nice volunteer, I think I took almost all of their photos with Hugo in this Q. *lolz* But at least I got mine taken with him on his phone. *dance*

I think that sums up the whole event and everyone was a lovely MIUI fan attending the event. Hopefully we get more of this event in the future.

COMING SOON:
Stay tune for Hugo's unboxing Redmi Note video soon!
Mist of unboxing. Credits:Angel
And also an interview video of fans and Hugo himself, by me and will be edited by WS.
I managed to grab a few photos with Hugo after the event
Die die, also must end with this photo. *muwahahah*
