Brunch @ THE ROTISSERIE

After a long week at work, I always look forward to my weekends. (: And last Sunday I had brunch with ALP and Raina at The Rotisserie, located at The Rochester Mall. This is my second visit to this lovely cafe. The last time I actually came here to study for my exams and it wasn't that crowded as last Sunday. Food here is nice, so ALP and I decided we should try out other stuffs on their menu. :D The best part of this cafe is their breakfast menu runs till 5pm ^_^.

I shall not post a too visible photo of them.
Quarter Roasted Chicken with two sides
ALP have been dying to try their roast quarter size chicken since the last time we came here for brunch. And looking at the portion, it is even bigger than half chicken at Nandos! (Wells, I had nandos the day before :p) And its done so properly that portion this size isn't so hard to finish after all! ALP finished it all. *claps*
There's never a proper time for beer
In my theory, there's nothing call a proper time for beer. Any time is a good time! So we saw these two interesting named beer and we got it. I got Pure Blonde and it's a light beer, which is good for a brunch :D I never got any bad feedback about James Boag's Premium Lager from ALP and Raina, so I believe its light and good beer for brunch.

It was packed that day, so we had to wait a little while more for our brunch to be out from the kitchen and mine came last T_T.
Raina's brunch: Rosti with Smoked Salmon
For Raina, she felt that the Rosti was a little tasteless for her. Reason was she didn't have the rosti with the smoked salmon =_='''. The rosti itself wasn't too fantastic, but the smoked salmon has enough flavour to balance whole combination. Warning for people who likes to save the best food for the last: Don't order this. *haha* But seriously, this whole combination is just nice. :D

Mine: Eggs Benedict
This is so far the best eggs benedict I ever had. The eggs are just nicely cooked that the egg yolk is in half liquid state. The onsen egg state ! :D And the muffin  (muffin?) is just toasted crispy that it makes the whole combination too delicious to even describe with words. And this was their last set for the day, and now I really know why. *haha*

We sat around after brunch and chat. Time really flies fast when you are enjoying yourself and Raina had to attend her church service. Still I felt something was amiss from this whole wonderful afternoon.

Red Velvet cake!
Yes, a dessert to end off the lovely afternoon. ALP and I shared their red velvet cake and being someone who doesn't really like sweet dessert, red velvet cake may not be the best choice. Most red velvet cakes I've ate are too sweet for me, however, red velvet at The Rotisserie proves to be one of its kind. It is not too sweet yet the taste is rich, with a cup of warm tea, this whole afternoon was complete.

Here's my LOTD for that day:

Cafe: Necessary Provisions

II decided to check this place out since it's nearby. Being a student, cafés with ample wifi and power points are places to hangout and study and do whatever you want hahahahaa. But really, the place isn't as accessible as I thought. Without driving, taking bus might need at least a 5-10mins walk to the location.

First sight, the place looks cosy and nice, but the chairs ain't that comfy and the place isn't very big. However, for hungry goers, this place may not the best choice for food. Their selection isn't great, even for their dinner menu, so in the end I ordered a iced latte ($5.50) and flourless chocolate cake ($4).
Along with the waiting number B6 :p I won't say the latte is fantastic, but the cake is not bad, even though a bit smaller than expected. Not too sweet for someon like me. :D

I'm a lazy person, so I took photos of the place using my trusty S3 while sitting down and using Decopic to decorate the picture hahahaa. Opps. They have nice decorations for a small area, which makes it nice to stay there to catch up with friends or do a little bit of reading.

The coffee machine area.

Their pastries table, not much selection too. :(  But I like the decoration of the table. Pleasing to the eye.

That's the biggie plant in th middle of the round table, where I shared with many. This place does have their flow of customers throughout the afternoon for the little breaks in between work.

They serve beer too, but not in the mood to try. Friend did, but not a fan of Moor beer ($9). Good choice if you like fruity beer with bitter after taste.

Now as I'm blogging from my iPad, the place is still filled with crowd. :)

Book Cafe

Assignments has better content when there's more than 1 brain discussing together(。⌒∇⌒)。. I find that super effective than one trying to figure the information, what's needed, what's not needed. And with word count restriction, its so hard trying not to write out of pointヾ(´・ ・`。)ノ”. So my module mates and I decided to hang out together to come up with the skeleton of our assignment. *banzai!*

We went to Book Cafe after realizing how inefficient it was to discuss in school.
I was glad that my module mate drives. *haha*V(=^・ω・^=)v. I'm such a bum man. Went there after everyone arrived and boy, I was glad we changed place. They really have great ambience for people who likes to read and there are book shelfs which contain books for reading if you didn't bring one. And great for kids too, for they have toys to entertain kids and I bet they have kid story books too.

Okaii, discussing means eating and drinking too. Some food spam here now.
Ice Mocha with Ice Cream
I ordered a Ice Mocha with Ice Cream, for that moment I felt I add too many calories( =①ω①=). But it was still super yummyヽ(*・ω・)ノ. The cakes were looking at us, so we decided to get a few to try out.
Strawberry Shortcake
Black Forest Cake
Both cakes were yummy and yeap, I went "gosh, this is yummy~~~~" hahaha. the staff there was happy when I made the comment out loud. *opps* I'm really noisy there hahahaa(゜▼゜*). The board was there so tempting, so my module mate went to add on something on the receipt.
French Toast with Banana and Maple Syrup
There's a interesting concept but the toast wasn't toasty enough, for those who really love toasty french toast. But this is just nice for me. Not too floury, yet nicely blended. Lastly on the receipt that we ordered and share is this. Delicious!!!
Chicken Tortilla
This is actually supposed to beef version, but the staff there was nice enough to change that to chicken for me. And is really yummy. Overall I like the ambience and they have good service there.
